Welcome to the website of Othery Village Hall. Our friendly village on the Somerset Levels welcomes bookings from people for celebrations, seminars and associations requiring meeting space.We can put you in touch with local caterers and D.J.s. We have many regular groups who use the hall. A programme of Lectures,Arts and Craft Fairs, Music and cultural events take place in the Hall .  We are ideally situated on the main road with an attached car park which includes two parking for the disabled spaces.

Why Pick Us

Othery Village Hall is available for hire at extremely reasonable rates making it affordable for all the Community. Electricity is metered and we invoice the month after your event.We hold a full premises licence including the provision and sale of alcohol and also a PRS licence for live or recorded music. We will give you as much help with Your booking as possible and welcome You to look round beforehand if You would like to check  whether the Hall is appropriate for your needs.We have a fitted hearing loop for those that need it. The Hall has disabled access ,parking spaces and toilet facilities.We also have a wall fitted baby change table.The kitchen is of commercial quality with stainless steel prep tables, 6 ring cooker, pass-through dishwasher, hot cupboard,fridge  and electric griddle. We have blackout blinds to use when using our projector and large pull down screen.There is a changing room to the left of the Stage at the back of the hall with steps leading up onto the stage where you will find the  fitted music system and electric organ.We are the holder of Hallmarks 1,2 and 3.

On Friday 16th March in Othery Village Hall at 3pm-5.30pm there will be space activities for children who must be accompanied by a responsible adult. At 6.30pm the hall opens ready for the showing of the film Interstellar starting at 7.15pm. The village hall bar will be open, some stalls will be set up and entry is free to everyone. On Saturday 17th March Exploring Space on the Somerset Levels continues all free again. At 11am the event will be opened by Paul Adamson of Somerset Levels Stargazers. 11.15 will be Distances in Space by John Martin . 12 noon is Stargazing by Paul Adamson 1pm A question and answer session followed by a talk by Ron Westmaas Chairman of Crewkerne and District Astronomical Society. 2pm Mark Woodland FRAS talks on Exoplanets and Charterhouse Exoplanet Project.3pm a talk on Astrophotography by Bill Reed. 4pm Astro facts by Martin Hornby.5pm Nigel's Space News. At 6.30pm the hall and bar open ready for 7.15pm When Bob Mizon MBE FRAS UK co-ordinator of the Commission for Dark Skies will talk on" Time and The Stars"
Throughout the day Children’s Space Case workshops will be held by Jo Richardson F.R.A.S. South West Ambassador on behalf of the National STEM learning centre (funded by the European Space Resources Office) owner of Space Detectives.
Astronomy related Stalls and exhibitions will be on display all day.
Daytime refreshments will be available to purchase and a cash bar in the evening.
All talks /workshops/films and entrance are free and open to all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult.
